Set's Second Month

Set turned 2 months this week.

Having number 3 is quite different from having number 1.
Different baby + 2 older siblings + less nervous mom  + hands-on Dad =  Really nice, yet messy, experience.

I keep looking at Set and thinking, "You are going to look JUST like your dad". I decided to pull out Isaac's scrapbook of his childhood his mom made him to compare baby pics. That book is one of our most treasured items. Thanks, Nonnie.

See a resemblance?!? I sure do.

Here is Doc, Dr. Charles Wilson Smith holding Isaac as a baby above....
and then below walking with Constance Annette and Charlies Isaac Smith the second.  Holding hands on Sunday after lunch.

Here is one of Set's many faces this past week.  He can also smile, but it's hard to catch it on camera since we still have to act like little high pitched clowns to earn one.

The kids try to get him to smile and stick his tongue out. I've gotten more confident in my ability to take all 3 of them out. Bystanders usually offer their help, opening doors, carrying trays, loading groceries and such. Love those kind gestures.

Took him to the doctor today. His eye has been running for several days and  he's remained congested for most of his life.
The doc said he has an ear infection and the eye issues are probably related to a sinus/ear/eye infection.
Sooo once again he's had to endure another sickness. Poor December babies.

He weighed 13.11 lbs. So big.
He's outgrowing almost everything I had planned for him including almost all of Charlie's old things. I can happily fix that problem though.

Still my most laid back baby. Prefers to be held, in baby bjorn, or swing most of the day. But sleeps and eats very well and cries little. Hardly even cries in the car. Loves his paci.
I have yet to even attempt at getting you on a schedule. No desire to get you to sleep through the night yet.
I'll save that less fun stuff for later.

Looking forward to the weekend. And teaching class on Saturday while Ike is Mr. Mom all day :))

Ping Pongin' Birthdays

My brother and sister both have February birthdays so we celebrated them together one night last week at my mom's house.

We ate and then enjoyed some Ping Pong.

My sister, Mom, and Dad have all won prizes in Ping Pong competitions. Yes, they actually have those around here sometimes. We even have newspaper clippings saved from their winnings. Fun sport. To watch and to play.

They set up the ping pong table on one side of the garage, while all of Lauren's apartment furniture on the other half. Her couch made for the perfect watch spot.

Lauren whooped everyone. Proud sister over here :)

Very fun night. Hope we do it again soon.

Valentines Day

My sweethearts

The picture above is Set's first smile caught on camera. Of course, his Daddy got the first real smile. Stinker.

I found tic tacs on sale a few weeks ago and decided they would be fun to use as Valentines for my kid's classmates at their preschool. Then, I used some paper tape to cover the label. Thanks, Mandy for letting me use your leftover tape.

Then, I found this free Tic Tac Toe printable here.

Should have found the right size clear bag. Should have put staples nicely in the corners. But they still turned out pretty cute. Annette and Charlie put the heart stickers on each little box.

Someone please be my perfectionist for me (hint hint, sister) and offer to take my ideas and turn them into neatly done products.

And last night, Isaac took me to Savoy. Isaac's mom watched Set and my mom watched A and C. A kid free night... which was quite nice and very different from our last year's family v-day dinner.
It was our first time at the restaurant. The food was amazing.
Next big occasion or celebration, I would love to go back.

It was a nice day celebrating all the LOVE around us.
I missed having a valentine play date like we did last year with all our pals, but thankful the kids got to have a little party at school.

Happy day after Valentine's Day!
Happy Birthday sister Lauren!
I'll be posting about your birthday party sometime this weekend.

A baby shower for Lindsey

My friend Lindsey is expecting her first baby (yay!) at the end of March, and I got to help shower her...
in chalkboard style.

my board, but not my handwriting. i wish.
lindsey's cousin, molly, is gifted in the handwriting department.
may hire her in the future.

it would be nice to be able to take credit for some of the cute food and decorating ideas. but with baby Set arriving just a few weeks before this shower, i wasn't as much help as i'd liked to have been. melissa hosted the party in a downtown condo overlooking the city. such a gorgeous view.

Love you, Lin!
And can't wait to meet that sweet baby Whit.
